Laboratory Universe and Theories

The Laboratoire Univers et Théories (LUTH) is a joint research unit (UMR 8102) of CNRS, Observatoire de Paris and Université de Paris Cité. The laboratory is comprised of about fifty people, of which about half are professional researchers (CNRS, Universities, CNAP). The scientific activity of the laboratory is mainly focused on the theoretical study of astrophysical systems and their modeling, a part of which concerns the processing of data from high-energy observations.

The laboratory is currently organized around three main themes:
cosmology, high energy phenomena and general relativity and compact objects.

<p>First image of the simulated distribution of matter in the entire volume of the observable universe (Full Universe Run simulation): in addition to the standard model shown here, two other dark energy models were simulated to extract their specific fingerprints on the formation of large structures.</p>
