Formation and long term behavior of the solar system using stochastic dynamics

Jacky Cresson (Pau)

We discuss how stochastic dynamics can be used to study long term behavior of the solar system as well as formation of planetary systems. We use the stochastic embedding of dynamical systems which provide a way to associated to a given classical dynamical system a stochastic analogue. Basically, this procedure assume that the first principles which give rise to a dynamics must be preserved under a stochastic extension. The seminar will describe this theory and its application to the two aforementioned problems.
