These pages accompany the lectures delivered by Éric Gourgoulhon in the framework of the Advanced Lectures of Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris.

The lectures have also been given in Louvain-la-Neuve (2016), Dubna (2017) and Les Houches (2018).

The lectures introduce some aspects of black hole physics via a geometrical approach. The prerequisite is to have some notions of general relativity, at the level of an introductory course.
